My story

Hi, I'm Arla! I'm about 2 years old, and my journey has been everything but easy. When I arrived at the shelter, I was sad, scared, and very sick. I tested positive for Babesia, a blood parasite that made me so anemic I almost didn't make it. Thanks to a life-saving blood transfusion and a lot of love and care from my shelter friends, I fought through and became strong enough to dream about my future. Now, I've tested negative for Babesia, but my new family needs to know that I could still carry a latent infection. Because of this, I need to be the only pet in the home to keep other pets safe. I promise I'll make up for it with all the love I can give. I'm a shy girl who just needs love and patience. A secure home and watchful eyes are a must, because I'm labeled as a flight risk. I've been through so much, and I'm dreaming of a loving home where I can finally feel safe and cared for. If you think you could be my happily ever after, please come meet me today!
