My story

Meet Jessie & Junie, two fluffy hearts looking for their Forever Home! Double the fluff, double the love! Jessie (lovely girl in brown) and Junie (merle and black sweetheart) are an inseparable pair of Pomeranians who are ready to steal your heart. They came into rescue as frightened strays, but have blossomed in foster care into happy, playful, and affectionate dogs. They each weigh about 12 pounds, are spayed, healthy, and adorable from nose to tail. Jessie is about 8 years old and Junie a little younger. Jessie actively seeks attention and loves to play with her foster mom. Junie is a little more cautious, but enjoys affection, too. They welcome visitors, are curious and eager in their greetings, and enjoy being petted. They will engage in wrestling matches to entertain and then lie quietly nearby. They spend quiet time in their gated area, are loose in the house when their foster mom is at home, and sleep in an open crate in a pen at night. Jessie is a barker, for attention and whenever food is involved. Sometimes she barks when they are left alone at home. Junie is quieter. She alarm barks when there is someone at the door or when startled, but otherwise is quiet. They are not good candidates for apartment or condo living. They enjoy routine, running to their pen at night and sleeping peacefully until their foster mom gets up in the morning. They are happiest when together and get anxious when separated, even in the next room, although this has been improving. They have become consistent in using pee pads in the house and are comfortable with outdoor potty breaks as well, although they haven’t yet made the connection between needing to go and signalling to go out. A securely fenced yard is a must for them, as they are not harness or leash-trained and are frightened by the busy outside world. And they are very fast! Both dogs have done well at the vet’s, where they have had full examinations, routine shots, and blood tests. With those coats, they need regular grooming and have had a professional groomer come to the house to minimize stress. Because Junie sometimes scrambles when frightened, she is muzzled for the groomer, and then she is completely cooperative. They are friendly, affectionate, and companionable, but they aren’t lap dogs. Jessie and Junie are both uncomfortable being picked up and are eager to get down. Taken on their own terms, they are lovely, loving, happy dogs who are a pleasure to have around. They enjoy company and attention and just being around their person. They will thrive in a calm, adult home with a patient experienced hand who is ready to help them develop at their own pace. Jessie and Junie are ready to start their new life with someone who will cherish them both.  October 5, 2025, 8:00 am
