My story

We know there are thousands of dogs looking for homes in Ohio, but we’re really hoping you’ll take a second to read about Max. Max is looking for a forever home with someone who understands the loyal, protective nature of shepherds. Max was surrendered to us in October when his owner moved, and honestly—we’re baffled he’s still here!Max thrives best in a home with teenagers. He has gotten along well with several dogs at the shelter, *BUT* doesn’t seem to want to share his home with them. For this reason, we’re looking for a home where he can be your only dog. While we haven’t had the chance to cat-test him ourselves, his previous owner said he’s feline-friendly—and we’re happy to do a proper test if needed.We were told Max is 3 years old, though he might be closer to 5. He’s housebroken but may need a little patience as he adjusts from kennel life back into a home routine.Max has so much love and loyalty to give—he just needs the right person to see him for the wonderful dog he is.
