What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.My adoption fee has been generously sponsored by a member of the public!A volunteer writes: I love taking this Little Bear out for walks. Greeting me full of excitement and wiggly-waggles, he knows he's about to get some of his favorite things. His tail goes into happy-wag mode as he explores the street with his nose; and when I call him over, he's quickly at my side, ready for his usual backrubs. He does these slow, soft wiggles and butt-shakes, while raising his back to make sure I don't miss a spot. For now, I've been keeping our interactions brief since LB has at times jumped up on his handlers when feeling over-stimulated. We don't know LB's history with other dogs, but when we introduced him to a novel female, he was anxious but still tried soliciting attention from her; when she ignored him, LB went over to his handlers, seeking attention. LB would greatly benefit from fear-free, positive-reinforcement training, especially with learning not to jump up on his people (whether out of excitement, stress, or anxiety). He's got a lot going for him though that bodes great success - he's very social and attentive, eager to learn, and highly treat-motivated. Come and meet this sweet Little Bear at our Queens shelter today! My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Little Bear is an absolute sweetheart! He's gentle, curious, and full of personality. He literally jumps with excitement when he's happy, which is pretty much all the time-he's such a joyful, bouncy boy. He's also quite strong, but walks well on leash with a little guidance and is eager to learn. He already knows "sit" and is super treat-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for learning more commands quickly in a loving home.During our Borough Break, he was friendly and affectionate with everyone we met-even gave out cuddles and kisses to an adult stranger who stopped to say hi! We absolutely loved spending the day with him and know that he'll thrive in a home that gives him the love, structure, and attention he deserves.
