My story

***Currently fostered in Barrie, ON. Meet Guksoo – Searching for His Forever Home Age: 5 years Weight: 13kg Sex: Neutered male Color: Amber-brown After 10 months in foster care, Guksoo has blossomed into a brave and social pup! Previously timid of men, Guksoo now approaches anyone with a wagging tail to say hello, especially If they have a treat for him! He still prefers women over men, staying by his foster mom’s side like a little shadow, but also loves to greet his foster dad and snuggle next to him on the couch. However, he is still sometimes cautious of male strangers in his home. He may bark if approached, but will settle if they offer him a treat. With other dogs, Guksoo loves being with his doggy friends! He especially loves female dogs and gets along easier with dogs his size or smaller. With his foster sibling, he loves to groom her and give her lots of kisses. However, he is a bit reactive when seeing other dogs while on leash. He is learning how to be neutral with other dogs and is improving over time! If there is enough distance, he has learned to check in with his handler (with a little whine) instead of lunging. Guksoo has EXCELLENT recall! He loves going for hikes in forested trails and will run to you when called, no matter the distance. He is a great leash walker and will stay by his handlers side majority of the time. He has been tested with both cats and bunnies and gets along well with them! He is currently being fostered with bunnies and has always been gentle with them. Outside, he does have a prey drive and chases birds and small animals. Since being in foster care, Guksoo has been working on basic obedience and desensitization to being handled. He is a very smart boy and easy to train, it helps that he is highly food motivated! Formerly afraid of any object that touched him, he is now great with brushing, nails, brushing his teeth, and has gone to the vet without any fear!
