No cap, our Shade has renewed hope! Shade has likely seen a lot in his lifetime as a colony cat! Along with his siblings (Coco, George—both since adopted, and Nelly), Shade was lovingly cared for until their colony owner passed away. Left in a precarious position at the start of winter, with their only known means of sustenance and care gone, EHS stepped in. He`s now safe and warm and on a journey to a loving home. ABOUT SHADE:-In foster-Shade is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans. -Shade is gentle, but may still greet you with a hiss. -Since arriving in our care, he’s discovered that he enjoys receiving affection with a back-scratcher, and on occasion some chin scritches by hand. -Shade likes food, but will only eat it when he thinks no one else is watching-freezing in place to not be seen (old habits die hard). -You’ll see him cuddled up with his friend Nelly in his safe space, at the base of a cat tree or in soft cubby.-After getting a little more comfortable in his foster home, Shade has discovered the joys of sitting on a window ledge to watch the world outside. The bonus, it’s easier to pet him with the back-scratcher!-Shade is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.SHADE`S IDEAL HOME:-Shade is looking for a home with another feline-friendly cat for companionship (maybe Nelly).-A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. -Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Shade settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Shade with a successful transition to his forever home. Do you think you are the one to help Shade emerge from the shadows? If so, arrange a visit with him today. If you have any questions about Shade or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shade, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
