My story

What’s your favorite melon? Watermelon? Chimayo? Honeydew? Cantaloupe? Casaba? Horned melon? Bitter melon? Canary Melon? At Pima Animal Care Center, our favorite is the canine variety; a snuggly, curious pup named simply, Melon!Melon recently had the opportunity to go on a couple of day trips and pawjama parties. His friends LOVED him, describing him as affectionate, playful, smart, enthusiastic, and friendly. Melon did well in the car, liked to be outdoors, and enjoyed hiking and running. He seemed to be housebroken, loved toys, was mellow and laid back, and loved to snuggle on the couch.“Melon was such a sweet dog and loved to give kisses!! He is verycurious and smart! He is a foodie and loves everyone. He is a very sweet, chilldog with lots of love to give. Melon also does not bark and was veryrespectful.”A shelter volunteer recently spent time with Melon and shared:“Melon was super eager to meet me at the kennel door. He was easy to leash and very eager to get going. He was very excited to greet anyone at his kennel gates. Once out on the walk, he sniffed a little, but he’s much more of a “sight” hound. He is scanning and curiously looking around his environment. He loves body rubs. He almost turns upside down when you’re rubbing him on his body! He has his “sit” command down perfectly and is very close on the “lay down” command. He takes his treats very gently. He is so lovable. All he wantsto do is be pet. Most of the walk he didn’t pull at all. Overall, this is a very affectionate boy. He has a lot of love to share.”Melon would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Melon is a resilient, friendly, joyful pup who is ready to give his whole heart to a new family! Come meet him today!
