My story

Nefertiti is very much a 'people kitty'. She loves her humans, but gives her feline housemates a wide berth until she gets to know and observe them. Her favorite pastimes are lounging, being brushed, ear tip rubs and getting chin and cheek scratches, especially in morning and bedtime. Yes, she loves to sleep with you. She came into my foster home, as the shelter had too many cats for her. Nef loves quiet time and could be described a real couch potato....the main reason that her weight needs to be carefully monitored; or she will 'expand'! She has overcome her hyperthyroidism with radioactive iodine treatment, allowing her to eliminate a medication from her daily regime. She is just on a medication to address aging discomfort, but is so easy to medicate, using a pill gun (especially when she is enjoying her breakfast) Through consultation with our Veterinarian partners, we know that she will need to have semi-annual check-ups to be sure all is good. MOST IMPORTANTLY, she has never let any of her health hurdles impact her joy.
