My story

Hi there! I’m Bear, a sweet and sociable 2-year-old German Shepherd/Lab blend with a heart as big as Texas. Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m gentle, affectionate, and always eager to please. When I was rescued, I had a severe tail injury that required surgery. While I may have lost my tail, I haven’t lost my spirit. I still greet everyone with a happy wiggle and a heart full of love. I’m heartworm negative, in great health, and fully recovered—now enjoying life in a warm and caring foster home. According to my trainer evaluation, I’ve got great leash manners, love being with people, and enjoy walks and time outside. I came right up for treats and affection, and I’m calm, friendly, and ready to be someone’s loyal adventure buddy. I’m just waiting for my forever family to find me. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). Our adoption fee is $300 plus health certificate and transport (if you are out of state - varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), spay/neuter, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.
