KAYLA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Kayla       Best Guess for Breed:  Shepherd and retriever mix Best Guess for Age:  1.5 years as of December 2024       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:   40 lbs   Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats. We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home. About Kayla:   Kayla is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd and Retriever mix who is as sweet as they come! Her foster describes her as a playful girl who loves to cuddle and is eager to be close to her humans. She’s well-behaved in the house and hasn’t had any potty accidents.   Kayla is still figuring out her favorite toys. She shows some interest in squeaky chew toys but tends to lose interest if she can’t make them squeak right away. With a little encouragement, she’s sure to find the perfect playtime activities to keep her entertained.   Kayla would thrive in a home where she gets plenty of love, playtime, and guidance as she continues to grow into a well-rounded companion. She’s eager to please and ready to shower her new family with unconditional love and affection. What My Foster Says About Me:  Kayla is a playful sweetheart and a total cuddle bug. She's learning more about the world and has really blossomed now that she's in a warm home.  Kayla and my dog can now officially take walks together and lay on the couch together, pretty good for two “reactive” doggies! This is a testament to her general disposition and proof that with slow and responsible introduction anything is possible. I’m truly so happy about this and it’s been a great experience for us all including my dog.  Kayla is still working on her leash skills and is starting to listen to commands more. She wants more than anything to have a place of her own where she can feel like she’s a part of the family forever, and she gets sad sometimes when we don’t sleep with her and she’s in her own room, she always wants to be loved on :) Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
