Park

My story

Meet Park, the Chihuahua Park is a tiny Chihuahua, weighing in at about 6.5 lbs and estimated to be about a year old. She was found along with quite a few other dogs left in a home after their mom was taken to the hospital, then died. We were able to take Park, her sister and her brother, all Chihuahuas. Park is very sweet and is a very friendly pup. However at first, when meeting someone she does not know well, she is guarded and hesitant; she does not want anyone to mess with her!! Generally though, she is very sweet and friendly. She is ok with other small dogs. An ideal adopter for Park is one who is very experienced with such tiny dogs and the dangers they could face. For example, in a fenced yard, if hawks or owls are overhead….such a tiny pup could make a nice meal. And, even though that fenced yard appears secure for a normal dog, it may not be so, for a such a small dog as Park. If you enjoy hiking or long walks…or dog parks…Park would not be your best choice of dog. She’s in good shape but she is so small that she’s naturally fragile. Her ideal life would be lounging and playing, maybe an occasional ride in a doggy-stroller, and just being with her special person. Park is up to date on all vaccinations. Heartworm tested and on heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is currently taking glucosamine-chondroitin (Dasuquin) for joint health.
