My story

Basil is a 1-year-old black Pit Bull mix with a heart full of love and a tail that’s always wagging! This lucky girl landed a spot in a foster home where her true personality is able to shine through. Basil thrives in a home where she can be the only dog, although she LOVES playing with other pups during playdates – she has a blast when she gets to run and zoom around the yard! This energetic girl is a fan of toys, especially her stuffies, and can often be found happily playing in the grass. When it’s time to wind down, Basil is sweet, cuddly, and ready to snuggle up with her people. She greets her friends – human and dog alike – with happy jumps, a wagging tail, and sweet kisses. Basil is still learning about the world, and while she’s not yet the best on a leash, she’s making improvements every day in her foster home. She’s curious and resourceful, often finding (and enjoying!) human treasures like socks, paper towels, and the occasional piece of garbage (how fun!). Basil is crate trained, and with the right environment, she’ll continue to grow into the loving and fun dog she’s meant to be. Could you be the one to give Basil her forever home? Basil is an All-Star dog, and her adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
