My story

Meet Kendall a 1.5-year-old shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a playful spirit. She may be shy at first, but once she trusts you, she’s your loyal companion—cuddly, affectionate, and always nearby. Honey walks beautifully on a leash and is calm around people and other animals. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has a soft spot for the little ones. At home, she loves to little-spoon on the couch during movie night and melts for rapid-fire kisses on her head. She’ll chase a ball but prefers to collect toys and be playfully chased in return—don’t worry, a quick juke is usually enough to keep up. Kendall has made great progress in her confidence, but she’ll need a patient, committed family to continue building her trust. Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet!  The adoption fee of $300 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Adoption fees are the primary way that Starfish is able to continue to our mission to provide medical care, transport, and rescue to dogs in overcrowded shelters.
