My story

Keiko is an amazing girl! She is 5 years old and about 70 pounds. She is sweet, friendly, silly, inquisitive, comical, and VERY entertaining. She has these amazing eyebrows, which make her face so brilliantly expressive! Keiko doesn't just walk...oh no, she struts. Keiko struts like she knows she's all that (and a bag of chips). She is a confident girl, very sure of herself, which is exactly what you want in a dog. Keiko LONGS to be part of a family. She's been someone's beloved pet, and she truly misses that. When she stretches out in the recliner at her foster’s home and looks at her with those gorgeous (but sad) eyes, her foster says she can feel how much Keiko misses the love and companionship she had in her previous life, of stretching out in the sun on a comfy rug, having a HOME. Keiko has been a house dog. She is housebroken and crate trained. She's totally fine with the lawnmower, vacuum cleaner, blow dryer, blender. You name it, she's comfortable. Perhaps best of all...she likes to sleep in. Keiko's not gonna be waking you up at 5:00 to go outside Saturday morning! Keiko enjoys playing with other dogs. Her ideal pairing would be a male dog of similar size and energy level, which I would consider to be medium. Her play style is more "ruff and tumble," and she likes to roll around on the ground with her playmate. We would not recommend small dogs or cats. When she's not playing, she goes into "couch potato" mode. Feel like kicking back, bingeing your favorite show? She'll keep your spot on the couch nice and warm while you grab the snacks. Keiko is great on the leash, and she enjoys going for W-A-L-K-S. Mention the word, and she starts dancing! She will pull if she sees something interesting, but stops pulling with a quick "heal." She sits on command, and she LOVES to shake paws. She is a very obedient and intelligent girl. Of course, Keiko loves a Kong filled with peanut butter, and she prefers hard chew toys over stuffed toys. The first time she discovered her foster’s doggy toy box, she literally jumped in it and started pulling out toys like a little kid on Christmas morning! Keiko is a FUN dog! She's got such a happy spirit. True to her bully nature, she's an entertainer. She wants to please. She has a super upbeat personality, and those eyebrows and her expressions just make you smile when you look at her. This wonderful girl deserves to be the center of somebody's world again. Maybe that somebody is YOU!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Keiko, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
