You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Massey, a charming young Pyr with a heart full of love! This giant cuddle bug thrives on being close to his people and is as loyal as they come. Massey knows basic commands like “sit” and “come,” and walks well on a leash. He is independent and curious, and does well meeting new people, inspecting house guests upon their arrival, and then warming up to their affections. He’s housebroken, and only barks when appropriate, to alert you of something needing your attention. Massey loves car rides with the window half-way down so his fur can blow in the breeze! More of his favorite things include: being brushed, munching on Cheerios, hugs, spending time with his humans, and playing with other dogs. Dog-savvy cats are welcome in his furever home, as he is friendly with the resident kitty, giving her a nudge with his nose once in a while, but mostly they just casually pass by one another. He enjoys spending time both inside and outdoors, and would love a 6-foot fenced yard. As he’s an adaptable fellow, he’d do well in any situation, even as an only pet. Massey would do best with a pyr-experienced adopter who understands the protective nature of the breed. If you’re a true Pyr-lover and are looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Massey is your guy! If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. April 10, 2025, 1:43 pm
