My story

4/21/2025 Some recent developments from Rain's foster: "Rain has definitely opened up but still working on confidence. She loves me and my roommate and we are working on getting there with my roommates boyfriend but, my Mom came over a few days ago and she didn’t budge, even with tons of space and treats all around. Her profile currently describes her as “aloof,” and I don’t think there’s a better word to describe her personality." Rain is 16 months old, fat, healthy, and friendly. Her mom is a DLH black and white cat that was found pregnant and abandoned at her rescuers friend's apartment complex. Rain was a house cat until she was about 6 months old and then put outside in the outdoor "cat compound," which is where the cats are kept safe from coyotes. It's a fence yard with a wire "ceiling."  Rain and her sister Snow came back inside about a month ago to get them acclimated again to being house cats.  Snow is afraid of people, so we haven't tried to get her adopted. Rain is not afraid of people, but she has a somewhat aloof personality.  She and her sister currently live in the large bathroom connected to their rescuers bedroom.  Every time she opens the door to go in the bathroom, Rain comes running out and runs all over the bedroom, having fun, and then she'll run back into the bathroom. It's a game to her.  She also likes to be scratched and petted and to throw herself on the floor and roll around. Rain is a great cat. Rain came from San Antonio, Texas, which is already humid enough, so she brought some precipitation to the mountains! She needs a committed adopter, who loves a gentle rain, to give her the time and space to open up again in a new home, to new people, and continue working on her confidence with positive interactions. Rain is currently being fostered in Denver, Colorado. ##2269019##
