My story

Malcolm is a sweet, sensitive pup who’s looking for a patient and loving forever home where he can truly thrive. This handsome guy is already crate trained, potty trained, and knows how to sit and lie down like a pro—he’s a smart cookie with a lot of potential and has done some group training classes. He's completed our Puppy Preschool class and our Doggie Middle School, too! This shy boy is currently working on building up his confidence in new environments and learning how to stay calm when meeting new people. He can be a little unsure at first (new faces and places can be overwhelming for him), but once he feels safe, his playful and affectionate side shines. He’s working on loose leash walking and learning that jumping up on his favorite humans isn’t always the best way to say hello! His ideal home? Malcolm would do best in a quiet, adult household (teens are great!) with another friendly, confident dog to show him the ropes and help him feel secure. He gets along well with all dogs, both large and small. Daily enrichment—walks, puzzles, playtime—is the best way to keep him happy and balanced. A fenced-in yard would be a big bonus for him to explore safely. Malcolm needs time, patience, and a little understanding to feel fully at home, but if you’re the kind of person who enjoys watching a shy dog blossom into a loyal, loving companion—you might be the perfect match! All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
