My story

Unique is a smart and determined pup enrolled in our Shelter Scholars program, where she's working on building confidence and reducing on-leash reactivity. With the help of positive reinforcement, structured enrichment, and targeted training exercises, Unique is learning how to stay calm and focused during walks, even when other dogs or distractions are nearby. Unique let people approach her slowly, always respectful and patient, and welcomed gentle pets with a soft wag of her tail and a bit of excitement. She rode beautifully in the car, relaxing quietly and clearly enjoying the ride. While she's a strong girl who could use a little patience with leash training, it's nothing to be worried about-just part of her journey toward becoming the perfect companion.
