My story

We have had the pleasure of opening our home to Sylvester for the last few months. Here are a few traits that best describe this good boy! Cuddlebug - If you’re searching for a full-sized lapdog, look no further than Sylvester! This pup is equal parts playful and affectionate, spending his days chewing on his favorite stuffies, giving hugs, and sitting in every lap he can find (and who wouldn’t want to cuddle with this pink-nosed cutie?!). He just wants to be around his people! Energetic - This pup has bounds of energy and is very spirited during playtime. For this reason, he would do best in a home with kids over 16 or adults only. However, when it is nap time, Sylvester will settle down and rest for a few hours at a time in his crate, and he always sleeps through the night. His favorite place to nap is anywhere he can catch a few rays of sunshine! Adventurous - Exploring new places, dipping paws in the lake, and riding in the car are his favorite parts of the day. He also enjoys just a walk around the block to patrol his neighborhood. Sylvester makes a great running partner (if you’re open to stopping along the way to sniff!), and would love to have a space where he can let loose and get his zoomies out. Training - Sylvester is very smart and loves to learn new tricks, or practice old ones! He has mastered sit, stay, down, paw, and crate, and is learning come, go find (scent work), and go to your spot (settle). Sylvester is very food-motivated and will work for just about any snack you offer him! Social - Sylvester enjoys watching the activity of passersby through the windows of our home. He wants to meet and cuddle with every person he comes across and invite their dogs to play. Sylvester would likely enjoy a K9 buddy to romp around with, but he is also doing well as an only dog in his foster home. Sweet, smart Sylvester wants to spend his days with an understanding friend and cuddle buddy who can take him on adventures and help him practice the good manners and relaxation techniques he is learning in foster care.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sylvester, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
