Baby Turnip / Butterball

My story

Butterball (tabby, 3 years) and Baby Turnip (white/tabby, 2 years) are two reserved, handsome goofballs looking for their forever home! This quiet bonded pair is learning to trust their people, gain confidence, and enjoy the cozy indoor life.When these two came into our care they were super shut down and wouldn't let anyone touch them. In the time they have been in foster care, they have made leaps and bounds socially! At this point Butterball loves attention. While he is still skittish around any quick movements he will let his humans pet him. If he ever feels uncomfortable he will simply leave. Butterball loves to lay on the couch and absolutely adores lazy mornings in bed. Turnip prefers to be left alone but he can usually be found lounging close by. Butterball and Turnip are SOOO bonded and love to wrestle and then curl up together for a nap. Both cats have relatively low energy but they do get random bursts of zoomies. Turnip doesn't usually play with his humans but loves to bat toys around the floor by himself. Butterball doesn't usually care to play with toys and would rather get pets. Butterball and Baby Turnip currently live with one human and no other pets in an apartment. These sweeties would thrive in a quiet and predictable home with engaged, compassionate humans who are willing to give them the time they need to learn to trust and love while settling into the joys of a warm, safe, loving home. This will look like giving them space when they need it and helping them build up to gentle pets and affection. These lovely boys do well with other gentle cats and children over 12; they have not met any dogs to date. It takes a special soul to help cats that have had a challenging start in life learn that humans are good and can be a source of love, affection, and care, but the results are worth it. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits.
