My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats or dogs.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.A volunteer writes: With the utmost sincerity, Buddy sits at the front of his condo and tries to invite people over. What to do when they accept seems to have him a little stumped, but it's the effort. The first time I met Buddy, he came bursting out of his den and then wanted me to watch him eat dinner. Eating on an entirely self imposed deadline, it was a very creative interpretation of dinner theater. Buddy was found on his own looking a little worse for wear and has been learning how to make friends in his own time. I know Buddy will often come racing forward and is excited to lean his big fluffy cheeks into my hand. I also know that after his splashy introduction, he'll usually take a step back to think about things. Buddy's FIV+ and known to be a friendly and talkative kitty.
