** $1,240 in pledges for the rescue that pulls ** ** New Behavior Notes ** ** EXTENDED ** Bruno ACCT-A-211311 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Bruno must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, FOSTER, or ADOPTER by Thursday, February 13th at 10 A.M. Should Bruno’s medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Bruno is a fun-loving, spunky pup ready to find his forever home! He was brought to the shelter on January 14th by an animal protection officer after being found as a stray near train tracks with a leash and collar. Despite his uncertain past, Bruno has shown nothing but love, energy, and affection for everyone he meets. Bruno is an absolute joy to be around—whether he’s celebrating a volunteer’s birthday, leaning in for pets, or eagerly exploring his surroundings. He’s a friendly, affectionate boy who loves attention, often seeking out all-over pets and butt scratches. He’s known for his adorable “chunky boy” charm and his enthusiasm for socializing, making it tough to snap a good photo because he’s always on the move! He’s been easy to handle in and out of his kennel and has had positive interactions with other dogs. While he sometimes fixates on pups in the parking lot, he can be redirected with treats and affection—he just really wants to say hello! Bruno is strong on leash at first but settles in with exercise and structure. He’s a smart pup who already knows “sit” and takes treats gently. If you’re looking for a lovable companion who will bring joy, energy, and plenty of cuddles, Bruno is available for adoption, foster, and rescue. Come meet this sweet boy and see if he’s the perfect match for you! Per staff 2/9: "Bruno did well! Immediately social with adopters, found the big rope toy and had fun playing. Allowed me to take it from his mouth and waited for me to throw it. Let me get a good look at his nose to look for mucus to know whether to request a waiver. Pulled a little on leash but did better when I shortened the leash and asked him to pay attention to me." Per staff 2/6/25: Bruno came into the volunteer office in January to celebrate a volunteer's birthday and he was so much fun! He was super energetic, but interacted positively with everyone in the room. He allowed all petting and solicited attention. Such a fun guy who even let them put a party hat on his head! Per volunteer 2/2 - This was my second time meeting chunky boy Bruno and he was as lovable as the first. Easy to take in and out of his kennel and just such a friendly, friendly boy. He LOVES all over pets and butt scratches, he comes when you call him over and loves to always see what's going on, so much so its hard to get a good photo 🙂. Bruno wants a dog friend (good dog meets in his notes) he does fixate when he sees dogs in the parking lot but can be distracted with treats and pets, he just clearly wants to go say hi. He is strong on leash at first but he's such a loving boy with regular exercise and a good bath he's going to make a great best friend. Per volunteer 1/15/25: Bruno is a lovable buddy who came to the shelter as a stray He is calm and easygoing -seeking a home where he can share his gentle affection. When you meet him, you’ll notice his soft eyes paired with a wagging tail that shows how much he enjoys your company. Bruno is a sweetheart who loves exploring his surroundings. He very much so enjoys the attention, of his human friend, sitting calmly or leaning against you while soaking up all the love. He’s a smart boy who already knows “sit” and takes treats with ease. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring comfort, calm, and joy, come meet Bruno and see if he’s the pup for you! Per staff 1/15/25: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Bruno was sitting near the door with neutral eyes and a relaxed body. When he saw the leash and the handler gave some baby talk he perked up with mid level wags, soft eyes and stood up. He was patient for leashing and exited without issue. Needed a bit of leash pressure when returning. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls moderately Some fixation on dogs when walking in kennels. HANDLING : In the room Bruno was friendly with both handlers walking around with soft eyes, mid level wags and was low energy and easy to handle. He waddled around the room exploring and would come back over to us to solicit often and lean in for pets. He allowed all over handling and would elan against us or sit calmly while being pet. He showed knowledge of sit and was very gentle when taking treats.
