My story

Looking for a gentle and calm companion? Bob is your guy! He`s a sweet soul who prefers to sit back and watch the world go by-- an ideal front porch buddy! The loud sounds of shelter life are a bit much for a gentleman of delicate sensibilities, such as Bob, but once outside he`s quick to settle. If you enjoy anything from a long hike to a gentle stroll, Bob would love to accompany you. While not overly food motivated, he takes snacks very gently. His manners are excellent. He enjoys a good chin scratch, but he`s not pushy or insistent about attention. He`s content to simply coexist within sight of you, if you`ll let him, but he won`t say `no` to a chest rub! While IACS does not do play groups or dog/dog meet & greets, Bob has shown that he has potential to do well in a multi-dog home. When in the outside runs, he perks up when he has a neighbor, and he has been seen trying to engage in play with other dogs through the fencelines. He would do fine as an only pet, no doubt, but perhaps a 4 legged sibling would help him to gain some confidence as he works on coming out of his shell. On a recent Doggy Day Out with a volunteer, Bob was a perfect car-rider and enjoyed soaking up all of the attention from said volunteer`s 2 young children (under 8yo). He made sure to be on his best behavior, even showing him that he knows the commands `sit` and `paw.` If Bob sounds like the gentleman for you, come in any day of the week between noon and 6:30pm to pay him a visit! Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home.
