Meet Adam: A Gentle Soul Waiting for His Second Chance Adam has been at the shelter since he was just a kitten—over 10 years now. He and his brothers, Abbott and Anthony, were rescued by a kind volunteer who found them fending for themselves outside her workplace. They arrived at Dog & Kitty City in October 2013 with hopes of finding a loving home. Adam is a shy but sweet senior who has spent nearly his entire life in the shelter. He does well with other cats and currently lives peacefully in a free-roam cat room. He finds comfort in the company of his feline friends and would do best in a calm, quiet home with other cats. He loves treats and has a soft spot for people he learns to trust. With those special humans, he may even allow a gentle brushing session. Adam will need an indoor-only home and extended time to decompress as he adjusts to a new environment. If you’re patient, cat-savvy, and have room in your heart for a senior who’s never truly known life outside the shelter, Adam just might be the quiet companion you’ve been looking for. All HSDC, Humane Society of Dallas County, adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption.
