HATTIE was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption before being sent with other rescued dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue, where they are settling in. Health & Background &#226&#156&#133 Cleared by the US Canine Center for Diseases upon entry into the US &#226&#156&#133 Spayed &#226&#156&#133 Rabies and core vaccines up to date &#226&#156&#133 Heartworm and tick tested negative &#226&#156&#133 On monthly preventatives &#226&#156&#133 Microchipped &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weighs around 33 pounds Estimated DOB: 5 November 2022 HATTIE’s Personality A gentle soul with a super affectionate nature Gets giddy with affection and does the zoomies when she’s happy Has gained a lot of confidence since arriving at the rescue Will likely be shy and nervous in new environments or with unfamiliar people until trust is built Enjoys the company of other dogs ‍&#226&#153&#128&#239&#184&#143 Will benefit from gentle guidance, consistent routine, and opportunities to explore What HATTIE Needs A family that can provide a healthy lifestyle, both mentally and physically Good quality food, toys, and treats Regular veterinary wellness checks &#226&#143&#179 Patience and understanding as she adjusts to life in the US HATTIE’s Story Found as a young pup in a busy tourist area in Muscat where stray dogs often face tragic fates Sadly, her mother and all five siblings were shot; Hattie was the only survivor &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Taken in by a caring Omani woman who provided shelter and love along with many other dogs ‍&#226&#153&#128&#239&#184&#143 Spent much of her early time in a large crate with limited walks twice a week with volunteers About Wadi Dogs Stray dogs in Oman, often called “Wadi Dogs,” are a unique mix of sighthound breeds, believed to descend from the majestic Saluki and other smaller agile breeds, many resembling whippets. Without rescue, these dogs often face harsh fates such as being shot or hit by vehicles.
