Hank

My story

Hank is a Parvo survivor born August 20, 2024. He is a German Shepherd mix. He’s in the Velociraptor stage, but has a super soft mouth, and hasn’t left a single mark. He’s a cuddle bug and wants to be near you. Hank has a rock-solid sit, still working on down, and a good recall when off-leash. He is good on a leash, a good walker and runner-by himself or in the pack. He wants to learn many new skills, especially if you reinforce with food. Hank is mostly potty trained with very few accidents. He is working on going to the door AND letting you know he needs to go outside using a bell. Pees like a girl, though. He is very fond of cats, and lets you know loudly when they are close-by. He is very interested but haven’t had any significant interactions. He is very solidly crate trained. Takes his food in the crate. Takes naps and is good all night. He has recently found his voice, so you will be aware when the "Brown Santa" (aka UPS truck) is at the door. As he gets more confident the noise will go down, but every person and dog have his attention. As he meets people and dogs a second time, he knows that they are not Freddy and his level of attention goes down. The mouthy part may be a bit much for under 5 yo, but he’s getting better every day. He's wicked smart. At the time of this post, he was on day 11 with his foster and was solidly into their routine on day 2. Best fit home for Hank would be an active one with a securely fenced yard and if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com
