My story

Meet Claus, a 7mo shepherd mix. Claus is a fascinating little mystery wrapped in a furry package! He’s happy to see people and wags his tail with excitement—but when it comes to touch, he’s still learning that hands bring love, not worry. With patience and understanding, Claus will continue to build trust at his own pace. Give him a yard and some canine friends, and he lights up! Claus enjoys the company of other playful dogs, especially when he gets to romp around outside. He absolutely loves the snow. A confident doggy sibling would be a great companion to help him navigate the world. His favorite hobby? Toy collecting! In Claus’s world, every toy is a treasure, and he takes his job as toy curator very seriously. He also finds comfort in his kennel, his own little safe space. He is crate trained (no accidents) and even prefers to eat in there. And as if he wasn’t charming enough, Claus has the most adorable underbite that adds to his unique and endearing personality! Claus is looking for a patient, dog-savvy home—one that will embrace his quirks and give him the time and space he needs to grow in confidence. With love, understanding, and maybe a little help from his new fur sibling and his favorite stuffed animals, Claus is sure to blossom into the wonderful companion we know he can be.
