My story

Meet Count, the 1 year young scruffy terrier mix who is as cute as can be. Weighing just 13 pounds, Count is a very sweet boy, but he’s very timid and shy and takes time to warm up to new people. He’ll need a patient adopter who can help him build confidence and feel secure in a loving home. Count came to us from the Central Valley with his siblings, and while it has taken him a while to get use to his new surroundings, he has been making progress everyday. His ideal family would likely have no children or older children with experience around dogs. He gets along great with other dogs and would benefit from being a second dog so he can follow their lead and gain confidence. Due to his timidness, he hasn’t been able to go out for walks yet, therefore he needs a home with direct yard access with a secure/tall fence. The tall fence is important since he’s quite the high jumper and can easily hop over a 4 foot baby gate. Given time and the right environment, we know he will blossom. Count is doing well with house and crate training. He has a crate that he will voluntarily take himself into some nights but his preference is usually to hop up in bed with his foster parents. Count is a low-shedding mix, making him a great fit for families who prefer a lower-maintenance pet. Count is looking for a patient, loving home where he can thrive at his own pace. In the event your application isn't accepted or might be a better fit for another dog, we will provide feedback and suggest alternative matches. All our dogs undergo comprehensive vetting, including spaying/neutering, microchipping, DHPP, flea treatment, deworming, and Rabies vaccinations. Additional vet care is provided as needed based on their requirements. The adoption fee for this dog is $350, serving as a non-refundable donation. Adoption fees may vary based on factors such as vetting costs, transport, and age.
