My story

NOW PENDING ADOPTION Meet Blueberry! Sadly, she was a victim of backyard breeding in Bakersfield, only to be dumped at the shelter once the breeders had profited from her puppies. When rescued, she was in horrific shape: her skin was suffering from long-term allergies that had gone untreated, her ear canals were stenotic, she had double cherry eyes requiring surgery, and she had no microchip and was not spayed. She has the most sweet gentle soul. All of that changed when she came into rescue. Blueberry underwent surgery to correct both cherry eyes. Blueberry is now thriving in foster care, enjoying a healthy diet (no more "McDonald's" style food every day!), and she received proper veterinary care, which included an allergy Cytopoint injections, flea control and medicated baths twice a week. All that is now behind her and shes super healthy! In just a short time, she has made amazing medical progress—her hair has grown back and she looks so incredible! Her demeanor has become wonderfully outgoing around kids and pets of all sizes! She is the most sweet mild mannered girl you will ever meet. She can be shy initially but within 24 hours, she will come out of her shell and show you the wonderful girl we all know and love. Blueberry would make a fantastic companion for anyone as she is incredibly grateful for love and affection. We have implanted an AKC microchip in her and socialized her with other dogs. Note: All breeds and ages are our veterinarians best educated guess (unless otherwise stated that our group has breeder paperwork) **** All Frenchies must be walked with a harness (never on a neck collar). **** The rescue requires adoptive family to obtain pet insurance for coverage of congenital and hereditary conditions. This is for any of the dogs in our rescue identified as a Pug, French Bulldog or similar. Adoption will be finalized once the proof of pet insurance requirement is met. (There are some great policies ranging between $28-50per month) **** We have an open door policy and are always here to discuss anything that may arise with your adoptive pet. After an adoption is conducted please do not hesitate to reach out. **** This breed generally speaking cannot swim and will sink like bowling balls so we do not adopt out to any homes with unfenced pools.
