My story

Meet Scanney, a sweet foster pup from DeKalb County Animal Services. She’s been with her foster family for about 1.5 months now, bringing so much love, laughter, and the cutest zoomies to their home.Scanney is around 2 years old, about 40lbs, and crate trained. She’s full of playful energy and still working on her house training, so a home with a fenced yard would be ideal, maybe with another high-energy dog to play with! While she hasn’t been fully tested with other dogs or cats, she’s shown non-aggressive curiosity around other dogs on walks—no barking or lunging!She’s a walk enthusiast who loves to sniff everything in sight, enjoys car rides (especially with her head out the window!), and can be a little excitable on leash—but she calms down quickly. Her favorite games? Tug of war, chewing toys, and demanding belly rubs! She’s still learning fetch, but her goofy personality more than makes up for it. Scanney knows how to sit, follows her people cautiously, and settles down quickly inside with cuddles and love. She’s generally quiet at home and loves to lounge after playtime.That said, Scanney can get very excited at times and may not be suitable for homes with young children. She would thrive in an adult-only or older-kid home with someone patient, dog-savvy, and ready to continue working with her.Scanney needs a forever home soon, and she would love to find her perfect family!
