My story

Hello my name is Market, I'm from Minnesota! Market (called Remy) is a truly a gem. He's incredibly sweet and loves being with his people. Market is good at making new human friends and will lean in for scratches whenever an opportunity arises. Market does well with other dogs but his prey drive is probably too high for interacting safely with cats. Market is fully potty-trained and is great at chewing on his toys and bones while leaving other things alone. He occasionally has some young pup behaviors like using his mouth and putting his paws up on you when he's overstimulated. Over time, it's become easier to notice when he's reaching his limit and give him a break before the behaviors appear. Market enjoys walks and is good on a leash but will pull when he sees a rabbit or squirrel. We're working on calmly watching from a distance rather than trying to catch them. Before coming to The Bond Between, Market had a run in (or probably a run-after) with a porcupine. He's had several procedures to remove quills and fragments, but we can confidently say he'd chase a porcupine again if given the chance. Market's biggest challenge is feeling stressed when his people leave. After several changes in his environment, it's understandable that he panics, paces, and vocalizes when he finds himself alone again. Market is now on anti-anxiety medication and we've started working on his separation anxiety. He would do best with a patient and understanding adopter who can continue helping him overcome this issue. Initially, this would include being home more often or using resources such as doggy daycare to ensure alone time can happen at his pace.
