I am looking for a foster or forever family! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can say YES to fostering this animal! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hello my name is Market, I’m from Minnesota! Hello to all my future friends!!! Because that is how I feel about everyone - human or doggy - that I meet. There is nothing I love more than being next to my people, and if there were a prize for being a grade "A" leaner, I would win, paws down!!! Here's another inside "scoop" - are you ready? Lean in for a secret, ears up: "Market" isn't my real name. I KNOW!!! I was just as shocked as you are, but my foster family keeps calling me "Remy." They say I remind them of some guy on a super old show from WAY before I was born, called Remington Steele, because I'm such a handsome, debonair gentleman with gorgeous dark fur. I mean, when they put it that way, it seems pretty obvious ;) If that didn't already make you fall in love with me, here is what my foster mom says when she's bragging about me to all of her friends: Market is such a good boy! He's house trained and walks incredibly well on a leash. Even at a svelte 70 pounds of muscle, I can walk him with one hand without a problem. He loves to chew on his toys and bones, and is great about leaving everything else alone that he shouldn't have. Although he sometimes forgets his size, he's been really great with dogs and kids of all sizes (he has not been cat tested). At 1 1/2 years old, he still has some normal puppy behaviors, especially when he's overstimulated, but since all he wants is love and approval from his humans, if you ignore or disengage from him when he jumps or does some mouth play, he will stop. Even in a few short days, he has already almost stopped those behaviors altogether, so with continued consistency, I'm confident that they will stay a part of his distant puppy past. Before coming to rescue, Market had a scary encounter with a mean old porcupine, so his short time in rescue has involved having to have quills removed, including surgically, and being neutered, and as a result, he understandably has some anxiety being alone, especially if crated. He is currently on an anti-anxiety med that seems to help a lot, and we have been able to leave him alone for two hours without a peep, by leaving him out of his crate. I think with time and patience, he will learn to feel safer and less anxious when left alone, and the great news is that he does SO well when left outside of his crate! But for now, a space without shared walls, and ideally with a family who is home more than they are gone would be best.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Market D63758, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
