My story

Eyes like big sad bodies of water. Lakes is undeniably beautiful. Her eyes are all the colors of a topical ocean too. We could gaze into them all day (if it didn't make her uncomfortable). Lakes was very uncertain when she arrived. We can't blame her either. The people she trusted most left her alone in a scary new place. Lakes needed a slow approach, but she did show us her desire for comfort very quickly. She really is a cuddle bug once she trusts. Lakes is cautious but accommodating. She deserves to have another family that goes at her speed and provides her a lifelong commitment. Western Ave. Chicago, IL *The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. *All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. *Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
