My story

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information.Eden is at risk due to behavior concerns. Eden arrived at the care centers as a stray with no previous known history. During her intake she displayed social behavior, had a relaxed body and allowed all handling. Throughout her stay she has remained friendly with handlers, regularly accepting pets and treats. Eden has been observed to be very on leash reactive towards bikes, scooters, skateboards, dogs, and cats. She will intensely kennel fight as she is removed from the room, as well as, as she is walked past the pop up crates and cat kennels. Eden will lunge, hard bark, and become both fixated and tense when spotting any of the above mentioned. Over time she has become harder to redirect. Recently she has started to hump handlers, is unable to be redirected, and it escalates to leash biting. Medically, she is healthy at this time.Eden is a 4-year-old large mixed breed who was found as a stray and is now searching for a forever home. She's an affectionate, people-loving girl with a big heart, ready to bring joy to the right family. My Ideal HomeEden would thrive in an active home with experienced dog owners who can continue her training. She enjoys human interaction and will do best in a home where she can receive structure, love, and plenty of exercise.Good with Kids?Eden is best suited for a home with no children under 13, as she can be energetic and still needs guidance on her manners.Good with Other Dogs?Eden has shown some reactivity to other dogs while on leash and would do best as the only pet in the home. She will need slow introductions and continued training to improve her interactions.Leash MannersEden is strong and pulls hard on leash, especially around other dogs. A front-clip harness and positive reinforcement training will help her learn better walking habits.Overall HealthEden appears to be in good health and has been examined by our medical team.Potential Challenges:Basic manners training needed (jumps up for attention)Leash reactivity towards other dogsHigh energy-needs both mental and physical stimulationEden is eager to learn and bond with her future family! She will do best in a patient home that can help her become the best version of herself. Primary Color: Gray Secondary Color: White Weight: 59 Age: 4yrs 5mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Eden, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
