My story

Meet Tinsel, a super cute 2-3 year old spayed female chihuahua! Tinsel was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN, and she and 9 other chihuahuas (several of whom were pregnant) were taken in by Paws Rescue League. They were in a TN foster home for over a month decompressing and learning to trust people. Tinsel is now in New England and ready to find her furever home!  Tinsel is a shy girl and takes time to warm up to new people, so she will need someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will work with her on continued socialization. Once you earn her trust, she is a very sweet girl! She is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we assume she would be fine with cats. Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. Tinsel is medically up to date, pee pad trained, and working on outdoor housebreaking. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
