My story

    Hi! I'm Petey! This 1-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix may be small (just 9.2 lbs), but his heart and personality are huge. With his signature pointy ears and his adorable bunny-hop run, Petey is equal parts charm, mischief, and love. Rescued from a difficult hoarding situation, he’s now embracing his second chance at life—tail wagging, stuffie toy in mouth, and ready for adventure! Petey is smart, curious, and eager to please. In just six weeks, he picked up potty training like a pro and is rocking his leash training (though he's still working on those manners - hey, nobody's perfect!). He loves his tiny toys, especially carrying his beloved stuffed animals around wherever he goes—just in case someone’s up for a play session. Petey has lots of energy and excitement for the world around him, and he thrives when he gets enough play and outdoor time. Because of this, a fenced yard is a must—he lives for running and zoomies! When his energy is well spent, he transforms into a calm, cuddly companion who wants nothing more than to snuggle up next to you. He’s never known life without animal friends and does great with both cats and small dogs, so he’d love a home with other furry companions. Due to some trauma around crating, Petey would do best with someone who is home most of the time - he finds comfort in having his people nearby. Petey Rascal is more than just a dog - he’s a survivor with a heart full of hope and a future full of love.
