My story

All cats are special, but then there’s Tom Pitty. Many of you know and love him—over the years, he has helped hundreds of dogs find their forever homes. Since 2022, Tom has been more than just our headquarters’ resident cat—he has been a key member of our Behavior Team, a staff supervisor, and a daily reminder of why we do what we do. Tom has worked tirelessly as our official Cat-Friendliness Tester, assessing countless pups for their ability to live with feline companions. With a little sass, a gentle spirit, and undeniable charm, he has played a vital role in ensuring so many successful adoptions. But now, after years of dedicated service, it’s time for Tom to step into a new chapter: retirement. That’s right—our beloved, fierce, food-loving Tom is ready to find a forever home of his own. Tom has spent the past few years surrounded by people and animals, and he welcomes everyone he meets with his calm, confident demeanor. However, he’s looking for a home where he can finally be the center of attention—an only pet household where he can be the king of his very own castle. His ideal day? Pretty laid back. Tom is an “old soul” with an easygoing personality, perfectly content to lounge around, keep you company during Netflix marathons, or assist with your daily routine—especially when it comes to reminding you to turn on the faucet for his preferred drinking experience. And don’t even think about tossing those cardboard boxes before Tom tests their comfort and durability! While he is a mature gentleman at 7 years old, he still enjoys investigating new things and “helping” around the home. And when he’s feeling cuddly? Tom is the ultimate snuggle buddy. He loves soft blankets and will happily keep your toes extra warm at night! A heads-up, though: Tom is a huge foodie! He loves to sample anything you’re eating (don’t leave your plate unattended—he’ll find a way to sneak a bite). If you enjoy sharing snacks with your cat, Tom is definitely the one for you. Whether it’s a little bite of chicken or a sliver of cheese, he’s not shy about showing interest in your meals! Tom is FIV+, which simply means his immune system is a little lower than the average kitty’s. He doesn’t require any extra care beyond routine vet checkups—just a loving home where he can live his best life. Currently, Tom is fostered with two children, so he would do great in a family environment or as someone’s prized, spoiled companion. As bittersweet as it is, we want nothing more than to give Tom the best, happiest life possible. We love him deeply, and we can’t wait to see him find a home where he can spend his day lounging in his very own castle. Don’t miss out on this handsome man! Email kristen@threelittlepittiesrescue.org AVAILABLE FOR TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY!!! Ready for meet and greets in Houston, TX! The adoption fee is $350 and includes all vetting: FVRCP vaccines (minimum of 2 but could be more depending on age and time in the program), FeLV vaccines, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, combo tested, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a health certificate deeming the kitty healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! At Three Little Pitties, we go above and beyond to provide unparalleled care for our rescue pets. Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart from other shelters and rescues. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care. We understand that our adoption fees may be higher than some other organizations, but we believe that quality care is worth the investment. By choosing Three Little Pitties, you're not just welcoming a new furry friend into your home – you're investing in their lifelong health and happiness. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A code for a free bag of cat litter AND a code for 50% off a 2nd bag of litter from Catalyst Pet • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces the highest stray and animal overpopulation rates in the nation, with over 1 million homeless animals roaming its streets. That's why Three Little Pitties Rescue is on a mission to make a difference. As a nonprofit dog and cat rescue, we work hand in hand with the community to combat this crisis. Our goal is simple: to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing dogs and cats of all breeds from the streets or overcrowded shelters, where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Your interest and support mean the world to us and to the animals we serve. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission to give every animal a chance at a happy and loving home! Our rescue is dedicated to making a difference. With close to 15,000 successful adoptions, we're committed to saving lives. We provide individualized socialization, training, and support based on the dog’s needs to ensure a smooth transition for both pet and owner. Plus, our adopters enjoy exclusive perks, including pet insurance, training sessions, and discounts on pet products. Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescueadopt https://www.facebook.com/ThreeLittlePittiesRescueAdopt Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
