My story

Prada is a 6-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix with a heart as big as her love for cuddles! This black and white pup is absolutely adorable and has a super sweet personality to match. She loves being pet and snuggled, making her the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal best friend. Prada also enjoys spending time outside, going on sniffy walks, and exploring the world around her. And when it comes to treats and snacks—she's a big fan! With her loving nature and happy spirit, Prada is ready to find her forever home where she can be spoiled with love and belly rubs! When Prada arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, she tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Prada to recover is in a loving forever home. With the right care and support, she can make a full recovery while receiving plenty of love from her new family. If you choose to adopt Prada, the clinic staff will be there every step of the way, answering questions and offering guidance. The treatment process typically takes about three months and includes simple at-home steps to keep her safe and comfortable. A follow-up test is required six months after treatment begins to ensure her full recovery. The good news? The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful, and the staff is confident that Prada will bounce back beautifully! Plus, it’s important to know that Heartworm can only be transmitted by mosquitoes—it cannot be passed directly from one animal to another. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
