Nubby

My story

We are seeking a very special home for our super sweet boy, Nubby. We were first contacted about this boy when a dedicated colony caretaker had him show up one day with a pretty significant and infected wound on his neck/upper back. His healing process was a lengthy one, but we very quickly learned how loving this former street cat is. Nubby got his name because unfortunately at some point in time while trying to survive outside, he sustained severe trauma to his tail that left him only a small piece of tail remaining and irreparable nerve damage. As a result of this, Nubby does not have the best anal tone, and though he does defecate in the litter box about 95% of the time, he will have accidents on occasion. We also have to be cognizant of his fiber intake in an effort to ensure his stool remains formed. Now for the more difficult part. Nubby also has issues with inappropriate urination and spraying, despite being neutered for some time now. In regard to the urination, we have done repeated blood work, urinalysis and imaging and there is nothing that we can isolate from a medical standpoint as being the root cause. As for the spraying, that seems to happen more so when he is introduced to a new environment. Nubby has also reopened the area where his wound once was, so for now we are remedying that with daily medications and of course his very fashion forward t-shirts. This is A LOT, but Nubby is otherwise the most affectionate boy we've had come through our shelter in quite some time. He even loves being carried around throughout the day which our staff is happy to do.
