My story

Meet Nugget, yes like a golden chicken nugget. Nugget is a rare sight to see in the shelter but he is definitely ready for a special home that can give him the structure and training he needs. Nugget is not like a regular easy going, bombproof golden retriever, he is pretty shy so he needs a home that can be patient with him. His ideal adopter is someone who has worked with dogs who struggle with transitioning into new environments, and understands the importance of continued training, and are not afraid of a challenge. Nugget needs a home with no children under the age of 16 and needs to meet any adults in the household before going home. He needs a home without cats or small animals. He would like to meet any potential doggy siblings prior to going home and would do best as an only child or with one female canine sibling. Nugget`s preferred home would be a house with low traffic and infrequent visitors. He can get overwhelmed with lots of other dogs and people nearby so apartments are not recommended. We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
