My story

Gunther IS AVAILALBE (updated 05-07-2025).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Gunther, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22761&name=GuntherOnce upon a time there was a happy little puppy named Günther. He was the runt of the litter and was born with a deformed right front leg. He lived in the home where he was born with his mother, brothers, and sisters. Günther loved to run and play with everyone even though he had the bad front leg that didn&#39t work very well. He didn&#39t mind; he was with his family. One day he noticed all his siblings were disappearing, and then his mom was gone, and he was all alone. Fortunately Coastal GSR went and rescued him and set him up in a foster home. Gunther had a new family and a new toy llama that was as big as he was. He was happy. We included some of his baby photos so you can see just how adorable he was when we got him.Gunther was born with a genetic abnormality that caused some of his right front leg to not be formed completely. One of Coastal GSR&#39s orthopedic doctors decided that the leg needed to be removed so he would have better mobility as he grew bigger. Günther is now a tripod and he is getting around even better than before. Günther can walk, run and play like a normal dog. He has two foster brothers and a foster sister who are between 75-100+ lbs and he loves playing with them. Günther does not have enough stamina to walk for any great distance right now, so hikes and long walks are not on his playlist unless you would like to carry him in a backpack! He is a great snuggler, loves to give kisses, and has fun playing in shallow water and the ice pools at our adoption events. He enjoys going for rides in his foster dad&#39s truck. There is not a person or dog that he does not love. He is a phenomenal little boy. Do you have a place in your heart and home for this little three legged guy?(Gunther would do best living in a single story home since he is missing one of his front legs. A home without a pool in yard is also preferred for Gunther). The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.May 7, 2025, 4:30 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gunther, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
