My story

Meet Kit one of the coolest members of our HAHS foster family! Kit is a young, female pit bull who is very loving, and good with people, dogs, and cats. She is being fostered in a home with another small dog and several cats. Kit likes to play with both. She hasn’t been around children but her foster mom thinks she would be great with kids of any age. Kit is beautiful and fully vetted. She is estimated to be around 1.5 to 2 years old. She was found as a stray by Lee Summit Animal Control. Since coming into foster care with us, we have gotten to know her pretty well. Kit is kennel-trained and will let you know when she has to go outside to go potty.l Kit is nondestructive inside and outside. Doesn’t dig. She is able to jump a 4 foot fence, but she will usually back in. LOL So, she should ideally go to a family that has a 6-foot privacy fence. Kit pretty much ignores other dogs on walks. She’ll act like she wants to meet or bark at them and then just walks away. Her training with a Gentle Leader has been helpful so that she doesn't pull while on walks. Kit does well with her foster mom's cranky old Jack Russell dog and is curious about the cats but never harms them. She loves bones and toys. Plays fetch. Enjoys walks. She is very affectionate and follows her human around the house – wants to be near them. When crated for the night, she is almost always quiet. This is a great, healthy dog that would make anyone a wonderful companion. She does need attention and exercise. All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee: $225 for all dogs and puppies.
