My story

Meet Emilia, a beautiful 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart full of love and energy to spare. Rescued from the devastating California wildfires in January 2025, Emilia came to Big Dog Ranch with her best friend, Erin. The two have been inseparable ever since, and they're looking for a forever home together. True to her herding breed roots, Emilia has a high energy level and thrives when she has a job to do or space to explore. She would do best with an adopter who understands active breeds and can keep her mentally and physically stimulated. A big backyard, regular walks, or fun training sessions would be a dream come true! Emilia walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs. She's also housetrained, knows basic commands, and enjoys playing with toys. Emilia is good with children as long as interactions are supervised, and after some fun, she loves nothing more than to cuddle up with her favorite humans. Despite all she's been through, Emilia is incredibly affectionate and eager to bond. She's also smart, loyal, and loves snuggling after a good play session. Her best friend Erin helps bring out her calm side, and together they make a truly special pair.
