My story

Hi there! I am currently in a wonderful foster home. She came back to us through no fault of her own — her previous family welcomed a new dog into the home, and sadly, Nala just wasn’t comfortable sharing her space. It broke their hearts to bring her back, and it breaks ours too. She deserves the world.At first glance, Nala might be a little shy. She likes to take her time getting to know you — but once she’s decided you’re her person, get ready for full-body wiggles, surprise kisses, and her signature “hug jumps.” She’ll be your shadow, your adventure buddy, and your best friend.Nala’s ideal home is one filled with patience, kindness, and understanding. She needs someone who will advocate for her and keep her safe when the world feels a little overwhelming. For example, she’s been known to bark at construction workers (can you blame her?), and certain new experiences can make her uneasy — but with your reassurance, she’ll learn to trust.While Nala isn’t reactive to other dogs on walks, she can be picky about who she wants to live with. If you already have a pup at home, we’d love to schedule a meet-and-greet to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. That said, she would absolutely thrive as the only dog too — she has more than enough love to give.Nala loves to get outside and explore, making her the perfect hiking or walking companion. She’s athletic, smart, and eager to bond through shared adventures. She seems to prefer women at first, but she’s more than capable of building trust with a kind, gentle man who’s willing to go at her pace.If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and lively dog who just needs someone to believe in her — Nala’s your girl.
