My story

Meet Svetlana! We received a plea from Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center for a kitten that wasn't using her back legs. After specialists consultations with Dr. Jennifer Brown (Rehab) and Dr. Chris Levine (Neuro), the consensus is that she’ll always be a special-needs kitty. She’s easy to manage as far as gentle stimulation to help her go pee and poop and she doesn’t let the fact that she can’t use all her legs keep her down! In fact, she loves to play. 😻 Any little movements that we see on her back legs are simply just reflexes and involuntary movements. She is considered a paraplegic, and we are hoping to get her fitted for a cart. Being a growing girl, she might need this cart adjusted or replaced throughout her life. Svetlana doesn’t realize that she’s any different. She’s not in any pain so she needs to find a home that will love her unconditionally and see how special she is. 🐾 Apply to adopt at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUVR/Cat All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats over 8 months of age, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need.
