My story

Meet Billy – A Lover in Disguise, Looking for His Unicorn Home Say hello to Billy—a ridiculously handsome 2-year-old tuxedo boy with the fluffiest chin, impressive whiskers, and a face that always looks adorably surprised to see you ("Hey, whatta you doin' here?!"). He loves being pet, snuggled, and even draped over your shoulder like a fuzzy scarf. Once Billy trusts you, he’ll be your little shadow—following you around, rubbing his face all over yours, and soaking up every bit of attention. But—and it’s a big but—Billy has a very hard time adjusting to a home environment. While he thrives at the shelter where he feels safe and structured, he tends to revert to his feral instincts when introduced to new homes. He spooks easily with unfamiliar sounds or movements, and past adoptions have been unsuccessful because he needs a level of patience and structure most households can’t provide right away. For this reason, Billy requires a very specific home—ideally with someone who has experience with feral or shutdown cats. He absolutely must be crated or kept in a small, secure space during the transition to give him time to acclimate slowly. Given the right setup, he will warm up—he just needs more time than most. Billy could potentially live with a calm, submissive cat, but he'd really love to be the only feline king of your castle. No dogs or children, please—they’ll overwhelm him. What Billy needs most is someone who sees beyond the challenges to the big-hearted mush underneath, and who’s committed to helping him feel safe. Billy isn’t a plug-and-play cat. But for the right person, he’ll be a deeply rewarding companion who’ll love you fiercely once he knows you’re his person. Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying!
