My story

Meet Gene.. the sweetest, derpiest big boy with a heart as giant as his paws. Gene came to us as a puppy after surviving unthinkable cruelty that left him blind, but his spirit remained bright. Thanks to a skilled specialty surgeon, Gene has regained a small amount of vision and can now track movement a bit, though he's still significantly sight impaired. But if you think that slows him down, think again! This lovable goofball is a master of joyful play. No dog on earth loves other dogs more than Gene, and his ability to adjust his play style to match anyone, big, small, shy, rowdy, is nothing short of amazing. He’s even gentle and sweet with cats, proving there’s no limit to his love. Gene is still growing into his body and his bravery, becoming more adventurous each day, and he’s never met a human he didn’t adore. Watching him learn a new space is like watching a little miracle.. he’ll sniff, bump, and then boom!! ...expert-level navigation in just a day or two. He’s affectionate, endlessly goofy, and so eager to please, truly the bestest goodest boy. Gene is ready to find the person or family who will cheer him on, love him back, and give him the home his beautiful soul deserves.
