My story

Meet Dodger – Your Loyal Adventure Buddy! Dodger is a five-year-old, 70-pound Shepherd mix who came to us from an overcrowded LA shelter, right around the time of the fires. We don’t know his past, but we do know he almost didn’t make it out alive. On his very last day, a dedicated foster drove all the way down to save him, and now we’re determined to give him the bright future he deserves! Dodger is a sweet, affectionate, and easygoing boy who loves everyone he meets. Despite his rough start, he’s settling into foster life beautifully. He currently lives in an apartment with another Shepherd and even cats! While he’s still a little curious about them, he does well with kittens and just needs a savvy cat owner to continue his training. This handsome guy is food-motivated, eager to please, and learning quickly. He’s doing great with house training and rides well in the car. Whether it’s a road trip, a long walk, or just a cozy night in, Dodger is up for it all. If he had his way, he’d be snuggled up with you or another dog—he’s a total cuddler! Dodger would thrive in a home that: • Can continue his training and help him reach his full potential • Enjoys walks and adventures but also appreciates a laid-back companion • Understands that while he’s good with cats, a patient, experienced cat owner would be best • Can give him the love and stability he’s been waiting for Dodger is truly a special boy—smart, loving, and ready to start the next chapter of his life. Our team will carefully review it to determine if you are a suitable match for the dog you are interested in. If deemed a good fit, the foster parent will reach out to schedule a meet-and-greet or seek additional information. In the event your application isn't accepted or might be a better fit for another dog, we will provide feedback and suggest alternative matches. All our dogs undergo comprehensive vetting, including spaying/neutering, microchipping, DHPP, flea treatment, deworming, and Rabies vaccinations. Additional vet care is provided as needed based on their requirements. The adoption fee for this dog is $100 serving as a non-refundable donation. Adoption fees may vary based on factors such as vetting costs, transport, and age.
