My story

Kado is a one-year-old social butterfly who absolutely loves people and being the center of attention! With his sleek black fur and striking green eyes, he’s as handsome as he is charming.Kado has tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), a virus that affects the immune system and can lead to a shorter lifespan. However, FeLV+ cats are just like any other—they love, play, and cuddle just the same! Because of his diagnosis, Kado can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals. He adores his fellow FeLV+ shelter friends and would love to go home with a buddy!BAHS waives adoption fees for FeLV+ cats and offers post-adoption support to help them thrive in their new homes. To schedule an appointment, please fill out an application online on our website, and someone will contact you.****All cats and kittens adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society must be kept as indoor-only pets and cannot be declawed.****All cats are spayed or neutered, FeLV tested, and microchipped. They are also dewormed and receive age-appropriate vaccinations.**All animals have been spayed/neutered, have been tested for heartworm/feline leukemia, have had age appropriate vaccinations, been dewormed, is on flea and parasite prevention and has been microchipped.
