FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- What do we love... we love when a foster's first response to a dog is "Hubs is pretty awesome!" And we agree! According to DNA, Hubble is a pretty funny mix of Chihuahua Rottweiler - we did a bit of giggling when that came back. He looks very much like a Labrador mix. This boy has been a joy in his foster home, he loves the other dogs, cats and even met chickens and goats - didn't really give them much notice. Hubble came from a California shelter with is brother - who has been adopted and is doing great. In his foster home, Hubble is crate trained and housebroken. He is a great mix of 'little spoon' on the couch, and exuberant play mate with the resident dogs. We just moved Hubble to a new foster home to get a different experience. He's with a female Malinois and they are playing hard and napping hard... it's love at first sight. We know he would enjoy having another friendly dog in his adoptive home - or frequent playmates. At about 10 months old, he just weighed in at 45# - we are guessing he might be about 50# when fully grown. Hubble has even been to the local brewery to meet people and play with the other dogs. Hubs would love a family willing to take him on adventures. He's even a good car companion. This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Adoptions typically take place in Marysville / Arlington. Adoption fee is $475. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hubble, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
