Currently in the care of German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, Marie was once in a loving foster home, but her protective instincts became too strong, leading her to guard her favorite person. Because of this, she needs an experienced home where her natural tendencies can be managed with patience and structure. Marie is not suited for a home with children and will do best in a quiet, adult-only environment with minimal visitors. She can be wary of strangers, so a low-traffic home will help her feel secure. Due to her dry eye condition, which affects her vision, she can be easily startled and needs an understanding adopter who will give her the reassurance she needs. Marie is intelligent, knows her basic commands, and is eager to keep learning. She thrives with an owner who understands the loyal and protective nature of German Shepherds and can provide the leadership she needs. She would prefer to be the only pet in the home, as she truly just wants to bond with her special person.
